Autumn is such a great season here in West Michigan. You can visit a multitude of festivals, take a fall color tour to view the spectacular oranges, reds and yellows that take over the landscape, and just enjoy the cool, crisp air. Halloween is not just for kids....our local communities sponsor various parties and events that are fun for the entire family.

Below are local corn mazes and pumpkin patches that are generally open, as well as fall events that typically happen. Check back for more updates on the 2016 events.

Lewis Farm Market

4180 W. M-20, New Era. (231) 861-5730. Corn Maze opens in early September with other fall activities in full swing by mid-September. Featuring The Apple Express, Barrel Train, Pumpkin Moon Walk, jumping pillow, and pedal carts. U-pick apples and pumpkins for additional charge. Special music is performed some weekends. Major Produce & Pumpkin Patch

They offer Hay Rides, Haunted Hall, Pumpkin Carving, Corn Maze, Hayfort, and much more. Also good food available, including homemade pies, hot dogs, pulled pork, sloppy joes, and caramel apples.

Pere Marquette KOA Campground

11713 W. 40th St., Branch. (231) 240-0303. Open Thursday- Sunday in October. Pumpkin Patch, hay rides, hay bale maze, pet the goats, and arts & crafts daily. Bobbing for apples, bonfire roast, pumpkin painting/carving (bring your own tools), pie eating contest, and pumpkin chunkin every Friday & Saturday. Apple cider/donuts, blood soaked tie dye, Oktoberfest (Beer Garden), and Haunted Night Hike every Saturday.

  • Dolloween - Barley & Rye, 107 W. Ludington Ave., Ludington. Halloween props exhibit by artist Laurie Carey. All items are one of a kind and for sale. Fair warning: This exhibit is not for the faint of heart or folks that just don't get Halloween!
  • Pumpkin Party - Sandcastles Children's Museum.. Each child can decorate and take their little pumpkin home. Cookies, cider, and coffee; and homemade orange playdoh.
  • Haunted Fairgrounds - Mason County Fairgrounds.
  • Haunted Village - Historic White Pine Village.
  • Halloween Hustle One-Mile Run - beginning at Cartier Park Gazebo in Ludington. For kids in grades Kindergarten-6th.
  • Rocktober Night of Fright presented by Ludrock - Ludington Area Center for the Arts.
  • Dogs and Suds Halloween at the Museum to benefit the Mason County Democrats - Sandcastles Children's Museum. Beer, cider, and hot dogs provided. Tarot Card and palm readings, and entertainment by Jon Erickson and Bill White.
  • Boos and Brews Halloween - Sportsmans Bar. Drink specials, special Halloween drinks, and spooky appetizers.
  • Creepy Cosmic Halloween Bash - Country Lanes Bowling Center. Costume contest, all ages welcome.
  • Annual Halloween Festival - Shagway Arts Barn, Ludington. Music, Trick-or-Treating, lawn games, pumpkin painting, face painting, and spooky trail.

  • Manistee's Ghost Ship - S.S. City of Milwaukee historic carferry. Open every Friday and Saturday in October. This is a truly thrilling and scary adventure.   • Onekama Fall Festival - Onekama Village Park. Craft and food vendors, inflatable castle, wagon/pony/miniature train rides, face painting, Mr. Balloon Man, and more! Rain location: Onekama School.
  • Boos, Brews & Brats - downtown Manistee.
  • 5K Zombie Pub Crawl - downtown Manistee. Participants travel from tavern to tavern, order the "signature drink" at that location and receive a stamp in their passports. Completed passports go into a drawing at the Monster Bash for a chance to win a big prize which include lots of drink tickets for the bash.
  • Rockin' Halloween Party - Manistee Elks Lodge- 432 River Street. Music, costume contest, hors d'oeuvres, and cash bar. Open to the public.
